And raise your vibration

We all have bad days. And the worst part about them is they don’t help our vibration.

That which is likened to itself is drawn.

So to attract what we want, we have to keep raising our vibration.

And on bad days, that means learning how to pivot as quickly as possible.

Here are five simple ways that help me do just that.

1. Shake It Off

Put on a feel-good song and dance your socks off!

Whatever’s going on in your life, dancing will help make it better.

And if you don’t love exercise, dancing is a great way to get your body moving.

I grew up with songs from the 80’s and 90’s and still love them. They’re so different from today’s music.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, open up Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” and you’ll feel better whether you want to or not. I mean, there’s a reason the song has been streamed over 1.5 billion times on Spotify.

Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me” is another classic which is sure to get your body moving and your mood up!

2. Try Something New

Humans are creatures of habit.

The problem is when we think the same thoughts we did the day before, we feel the same feelings. And when those feelings are not the ones we want, negative momentum builds quickly, making it harder to pivot to more positive thoughts and feelings.

Mindfulness helps slow negative momentum down. And breaking away from our daily routines not only encourages mindfulness, it also improves brain health.

Whether it’s learning a new skill, trying a new food or restaurant, or walking or driving a new route to work, try something new every day.

Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to create new connections and function in new and better ways. It’s what helps us learn, experience and heal.

As an added bonus, continuous learning can also help prevent memory loss, Alzheimer’s and dementia.

3. Spring Clean

Out with the old. In with the new (if necessary).

You don’t need to move homes or go through a breakup to have a reason to spring clean.

Spring cleaning is an excellent way to practice letting go — a skill so many struggle with, and yet an essential one for raising our vibration.

It can help us accept that change is the only constant in life and that in order to allow our current desires to manifest, we must make space for them.

I clean up/out regularly — whether it’s my office, my wardrobe or my fridge. Sometimes I feel lighter afterwards. Sometimes I feel hopeful. Sometimes it’s simply about feeling productive. But whatever the feeling, it’s always better than when I started the process.

I love Marie Kondo’s famous question “Does this item bring me joy?” If the answer is no, get rid of it.

4. Change Your Passwords to Statements of Truth

I know most of our passwords these days are stored somewhere and auto-populated when needed. But there are moments when we are still required to manually enter them.

Instead of using random words and numbers, consider making your passwords statements of truth.

Examples could be: “I am lovable,” “I am enough,” “I am abundant,” “I am beautiful,” — you get the idea.

It’s a simple way to help raise our vibration.

It does not matter if you believe these things about yourself yet. The statements are, in fact, true and the exercise is to get your mind to adopt new beliefs about yourself, and raise your vibration in doing so.

The mind only works in the present, not the future or the past, so make sure the statements are written in the present tense.

5. Prepare & Eat a Balanced Meal

I love food. Good food. And on my down days, it’s one of the ways I use to pivot my mood.

The mind-gut connection is real, and preparing a plate filled with my superfoods is a sure way to make me feel better.

It doesn’t have to take long or be complicated either. I often mix fruit and vegetables together — be it in a colour-rich salad or a one-pan stir fry.

And if you don’t yet know what your superfoods are, there’s an easy way to find out. You can learn more here.

…..

I’m a work in progress, just like everyone else, with plenty of bad days.

But I think the important thing is to keep showing up for ourselves. To keep trying to raise our vibration. And to celebrate the wins — no matter how small.

Wherever you are on your healing journey, always remember that YOU ARE ENOUGH.
