Our Thoughts and Feelings Create an Electromagnetic Charge Around

WHATEVER FREQUENCY WE EMIT WILL DRAW AN EQUAL FREQUENCY BACK TO IT

As originally published in Change Your Mind Change Your Life on Medium.com.

Everything is energy. It’s physics. Everybody knows this. But a recent Dr. Joe Dispenza retreat gave me a deeper meaning as to how this not only applies to our daily lives but how we can use it to create our future.

…..

This article is also an expansion on insight #1 of my recent article “Quite Possibly the Only Knowledge You Need To Change Your Life” after multiple requests to expand on the insights with ways to implement the lessons learned.

Where You Place Your Attention, You Place Your Energy

Have you ever noticed that when you focus on something, that something starts to appear everywhere?

For example, I’m a dog lover. Always have been. But I never saw Rhodesian Ridgebacks around where I live — until I got one myself. Now I see them everywhere.

This is not an exception. It’s common.

Thoughts have an electrical charge and feelings have a magnetic charge. This creates an electromagnetic charge around us — energy.

The vibration of this energy is, therefore, directly determined by our thoughts and feelings.

So when we are focused on any particular object, in my case Rhodesian Ridgebacks, more of that will begin to appear around us.

The same is true for feelings. When we become stuck in negative thought patterns and feelings, the vibration of our energy will be at a much lower frequency than if we move with positive thoughts and feelings. Whatever frequency we emit will draw an equal frequency back to it.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”

— Nikola Tesla

In other words, change your energy, change your life.

And we can do this by changing our thoughts AND emotions.

This theory is so simple, so why is it so hard to implement?

Emotions Trump Logic — Every Time

As children, we do not possess logic, only emotion. All our attention is on our inner world because that’s where the brainwave patterns are (delta and theta).

It isn’t until we enter the imaginary world (alpha), between the ages of 6–9, that the analytical mind develops, and a filter is created between the conscious and subconscious mind.

By this point, the deep-seated beliefs we hold about ourselves, and corresponding coping behaviours, have already been formed.

And as we enter our teenage years and beyond we’re in varying levels of beta, thereby steadily moving further and further away from our inner world (emotions).

This is why something as simple as affirmations alone don’t work — because we are in beta and our body says no.

I wrote more about this in “Why We Feel Like We Are Not Enough.”

This is why knowing something or telling ourselves something (logic) is not the same as believing and feeling it (emotion) — the frequency is different.

To me, animals are a beautiful reflection of this.

I spend a lot of time training my now two-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback male. He’s 40kg and counting, so a powerhouse to say the least. With all the time, effort and energy I’ve invested in his upbringing, you’d think he’d be the perfect angel by now. Alas, he is not. But sometimes he is.

What I’ve come to understand is that he is always a reflection of my energy.

If I say “sit”, but am thinking about my to-do list and am frustrated he never listens, then of course he doesn’t sit.

But if he has my undivided attention, and I picture him sitting as I give the command and simultaneously feel the inevitable pride that accompanies a well-behaved dog, he sits.

It’s the perfect lesson in mindfulness.

Only by believing and feeling the desired accompanying emotion NOW do we emit the frequency capable of attracting what we want.

“Decide what you want to be, do, and have, think the thoughts of it, emit the frequency, and your vision will become your life.”

— Rhonda Byrne

The Newtonian vs the Quantum Model of Reality

Dr. Joe Dispenza talks a lot about the Newtonian vs the Quantum model of reality.

The Newtonian model of reality is cause and effect — where we need a reason for joy or gratitude. When something outside of us changes how we feel on the inside, we pay attention to what caused that feeling.

The Quantum model of reality is about causing an effect. This means we have to give thanks and feel the joy and celebration ahead of the actual event.

Most of us live by the Newtonian model. Certain events happen in our lives which result in certain emotions, however rational or irrational. Thereafter any memory or remotely similar event triggers the familiar emotion.

For example, if a dog snaps at a child it often results in tears and a subsequent fear of dogs. Then, even as an adult, when the person is three or more times larger than the animal, the mere sight of a dog still triggers panic, fear and aggression.

I encounter this a lot, given the size of my boy Boris, and of course, he reacts to that negative energy towards him (remember animals reflect the energy around them). I’m teaching him to ignore it, that’s part of the training.

Comparatively, it’s the same as being able to stay completely calm when a stranger decides to yell at us for no reason. As with Boris, it takes inner work (training) for humans to effectively navigate these situations.

The sad part of living by the Newtonian model of reality is that we effectively live in the past. We react to situations based on past emotions. And it is not possible to move towards a new future whilst holding on to emotions of the past. Our reality won’t change — because our frequency hasn’t.

Using the example above, by effectively living in the past, this person will never know the joy, love, comfort, companionship, loyalty, and countless other positive emotions a dog can provide.

The same applies to any situation, of course — relationships, jobs, adventures, etc — and our lives are poorer because of it.

Therefore, to live a healthier and happier life, our goal must be to move out of the Newtonian model of reality and into the Quantum model of reality.

“We are slowed down sound and light waves, a walking bundle of frequencies tuned into the cosmos. We are souls dressed up in sacred biochemical garments and our bodies are the instruments through which our souls play their music.”

— Albert Einstein

How To Cause an Effect

If we can learn how to shape our environment as opposed to allowing our environment to shape us, our lives will change.

But this means venturing into the unknown.

Predictions are forecasted patterns or occurrences, always based on past events. By definition then, if we can predict something, we are living in the past and thereby guaranteeing our future will be the same as our past.

Therefore, to ensure a future that is different to our past, it must be unpredictable. And for this to occur, we need new thoughts and new feelings.

Our job is to be clear on what we want and why we want it — and then live as though we already have it.

When we have a clear intention with an elevated emotion we can remain in the present moment and live mindfully.

When we already feel all the emotions we want to feel BEFORE our desired future has manifested, there is no more reason to worry.

Because new thoughts and new emotions raise our energetic vibration, and ultimately the law of attraction must apply. It’s physics.

“Our entire biological system, the brain, and the Earth itself work on the same frequencies.”

— Nikola Tesla

To achieve an elevated emotion, in my experience, there are two prerequisites:

  1. We do the inner work to understand, process, and let go of outdated thoughts and beliefs.

  2. The discomfort of our current situation begins to outweigh the discomfort of the unknown.

I’ve always known I wanted a dog. That was my “what”. I also always knew the “why”, only the emotion wasn’t elevated.

Emotions are feelings. I knew having a dog would bring me feelings of joy, love, comfort, companionship, loyalty, and countless other positive emotions.

But I was not able to proactively feel those emotions — at least not sustainably. Because I was stuck in all my emotions of the past.

My unhappiness and feelings of unworthiness trumped all others, subconsciously of course. And excuses were a tell-tale sign of this — “I’m too busy”, “I can’t raise a puppy alone”, “I have other priorities at the moment”.

It wasn’t until I did the inner work to understand, process, and let go of those outdated thoughts and beliefs, that I was able to feel my desired emotions before getting what I wanted.

At that point, it also became clear to me that at the end of my life, I would desperately regret never having a dog. And that far outweighed any fear of getting him.

Et voilà! Boris arrived.

Meditation helped me with the process because when we slow our breathing, we slow our brainwaves and can move from beta (our conscious analytical mind) to alpha and further to theta, a hypnotic state where we are open to suggestions. This is where we are conscious in our subconscious mind.

Our conscious mind is where there is logic and reasoning. The purpose of meditation is to get beyond the analytical mind and tap into our subconscious, where our habits and behaviours reside.

I wrote more about this in“Our Body Is Our Subconscious Mind.”

“Peace is more than just a feeling. It’s the mental and physical frequency where you’ll find all your real power.”

— Martha Beck

Our Personality Becomes Our Personal Reality

Our thoughts and feelings create an electromagnetic charge around us, and whatever frequency we emit will draw an equal frequency back to it.

We create our reality. Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world, not vice versa. I learned this the hard way, as do so many others.

Like everyone else, I’m a work in progress. I often have moments where I fall back into emotions of the past, but the difference is how hyper-aware of it I now am. And as such, I can self-correct.

I also have Boris who always reflects my frequency to me. As frustrating as this can be at times, I am eternally grateful for him. He ensures I exercise, eat well, play, rest, love, and stay present — every day.

One of my favourite quotes is by Dan Millman who wrote “Way of the Peaceful Warrior” and it says:

“Where are you? Here.
What time is it? Now.
What are you? This moment.”

And for all those unsure about dogs when they pass by, from a distance simply observe the owner’s energy and demeanour and you will know the animal’s character.

And if you go to someone’s home, simply observe the dog’s energy and demeanour and you will know the person’s character.

“A dog is always going to be honest. The dog tells you the reality. The human is going to tell you the story.”

— Cesar Milan

If you’re on the fence about getting a dog, just imagine your elevated emotions when you‘re woken up by a smile like this every morning!

Wherever you are on your healing journey, always remember that YOU ARE ENOUGH.
